Holistic Non-Revenue Water Reduction Program.
Non-Revenue Water
Non-Revenue Water (NRW) in its simplest form can be defined by the following formula:
NRW = Total Volume of Treated Water – Total Volume of Sold Water
Essentially it is the volume of water that the water utility spends money on treating and distributing that is not paid for by billed customers. The NRW level of a water utility is therefore often used as an indicator of the efficiency performance of the utility as a whole.
The implementation of NRW reduction schemes in many other places has successfully increased the headroom of available resources without the need of increasing supply volumes.Base on International Water Association (IWA) water balance we are proposing to implement a NRW reduction strategy in holistic approach in coverage area/state utilizing proven methodologies to significantly reduce the level of NRW.The proposed programnormally will be divided into two categories, they are: –
Preparation – which consisted desk study and data collection then todecide thepractical strategy suitable for the area.
